By default DataPA Enterprise will render report using the DataPA Enterprise Report Service. This is a 32-bit Windows service.

This creates COM objects for the purpose of rendering the reports and under heavy use this can sometimes cause issues with the DataPA Enterprise Report Service itself.

From version 6.50.0021 onwards DataPA Enterprise can be configured to perform this report rendering outside of the DataPA Enterprise Report Service itself. This reduces the number of COM objects created by the DataPA Enterprise Report Service preventing any related issues.

In order to enable this functionality you need to create a file called UseReportExe.dat in the c:\ProgramData\DataPA folder on the server running DataPA Enterprise.

This functionality may become the standard default behaviour at some point in the future.
